Privacy Policy for Modbus 40001

Last updated: 27 August 2026

Overview

Modbus 40001 (“the App”) is a Modbus/TCP master for iPhone and iPad. This policy describes how the App Store build handles information.

Short version: no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking. Settings stay on your device. Connections go from your device to the equipment you name, on your own network.

Who this covers

This policy applies to the iOS app published as Modbus 40001 (App Store name). It does not cover third-party websites you might open from a link in the App (for example a support page).

Information we do not collect

There is no advertising SDK, no analytics package, and no third-party tracker in the App.

What stays on your device

The App stores the following locally so it can offer them again next time:

Register and coil values read from equipment are held in memory while you are connected. They are not written to disk and are not sent anywhere except to the device you named.

Deleting the App removes everything it has stored on that device.

Network access

The published App opens a Modbus/TCP connection from your device to the host and port you type, typically a PLC or other controller on your own network. Nothing is relayed through our servers in the App Store build.

The first time it connects, iOS will ask for Local Network permission. That permission is only used to reach the equipment you named.

Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share personal information with third parties. There is no account system, so there is no profile to share.

The only destination for connection details and register data is the Modbus device you entered, reached directly from your device.

Third-party services

The App does not use Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, advertising networks, social pixels, or similar trackers.

Apple provides the App Store, device security, and the Local Network permission prompt. Those are governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.

A “Buy me a coffee” link in the App, if you tap it, opens a third-party site in the browser. That site has its own policy. Tapping it is optional.

Children

The App does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. It is a technical commissioning tool, not directed at children.

Your choices

We cannot retrieve your settings because they live on your device, not on an account of ours.

California (CCPA) and Europe (GDPR)

We do not sell personal information. We do not run an advertising or analytics profile. Connection settings you type are processed on your device to talk to the Modbus equipment you named. If you have a privacy request, use the contact path below.

Changes

If this policy changes, the “Last updated” date at the top will change and the new text will be posted at this URL. The App Store listing points here.
